Heather Gillespie, MD is a primary care sports medicine physician at the University of California, Los Angeles. She has an active clinical practice treating musculoskeletal complaints in athletes of all ages as well as serving as one of the team physicians for UCLA varsity athletics.
Dr. Gillespie received her undergraduate degree in Biology from Brown University followed by medical school at Duke University. While enrolled in medical school she also received her MPH from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Gillespie completed her residency training in family medicine at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia followed by a Sports Medicine Fellowship at Maine Medical Center.
Dr. Gillespie plays an active role in the teaching of fellows, residents and medical students at UCLA. Her current research interests include the epidemiology of inner city youth sports injuries and injuries in collegiate swimmers.
